A little bit lazy, a little bit not

It's going up to 65 here today! Check it out:

So this morning I got up and hit up boot camp. I was feeling rough. I don't do well with Sat AM workouts because well I generally dont eat before I go (I know, I know TERRIBLE) and to be honest I'm just not awake! So I walked most of the running parts but other than that did ok. I stopped at Smoothie King to celebrate the weekend weather and the got some dog food for the little one at Petsmart. It was $2 off with your PetSmart card and then I had a coupon for $4 off. So I got 44.1 lbs of dog food for 16 bucks - not to shabby!!

After that I came home and uhm... took a nap. I know, on such a beautiful day. Unacceptable. But I really wanted to. I'm up and ready to go now and am going to take a quick bike ride. I'm going out with the boy tomorrow... for a bike ride! I've not ridden since Oct. Crap crap crap. Spandex and all. It's going to be hot. HA!

OH! And for my weigh in... down 1 lb!!! 175.2. At this rate I MIGHT be inthe 160s by the end of the year haha. But whatever as long as the scale keeps going down I'll take it.

Eats so far

Bfast:
SMOOTHIE KING (Pineapple Pleasure) - 3
Choc chip cookie (oops!) - 3

Lunch:
Fiber Wheat Thins - 2
Light Cheddar cheese - 1
Turkey pep - 1
Bell Pepper tomato soup - 1
pineapple! - 1

I should be in good shape for the rest of the day. I might make a yummy mac n cheese for dinner! We shall see.

Ok, time to dust off my bike. Crap!

Reaching Goals....

Or at least getting really close to it! This morning I got up and met up with my friend Lily to go for a ride... and a run! We did a 15 mile ride and then she made me jog a 5k after that. I've never run for more than 1 mile... but I did it! Granted by the end I was sort of shuffling and wanted to walk so badly, but she wouldn't let me. She literally dragged me at one point when I stopped. But it only took 40 minutes, which I know isn't an amazing time, but it's better than I thought it was going to be. AND I did all of that after riding. I might just finish this tri afterall!

I'm quite pooped now. I need to go to the food store at some point, and might be going to see Sex In the City tonight. But for right now I'm sitting my butt on the couch and watching some TV. That's ok, right?

Also -- went bowling with some friends last night. So fun. I was horrible and loved it. Randomly enough I think I'm going bowling with some people from work tomorrow night as well. Maybe I'll improve my score! That would be exciting.... we'll see.

Food today has been random.

Bfast:
yogurt before workout - 2

Snack:
a few grapes in between bike and jog - 0

Lunch:
2 egg whites, 1 egg - 2.5
light english muffin w/ pb and honey - 4.5

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Pictures

It was supposed to rain all day today... but so far it's held off! I got off my butt this morning and went for a ride. Nothing too long - just 10 miles. But it was hilly and windy, so that's gotta count for something. And, I had a really cute outfit on. So maybe I can't ride all that fast, but at least I look cute, right?? Here are two pictures post ride. (Don't mind the bathroom location)

What you can't really see is my cute skirt, but such is life. And since I'm in the picturing mode.... here is one of the pups standing outside oh so patiently waiting for me to let them in.

I'm thinking about heading to the gym now and doing a quick walk/run on the treadmill and maybe lifting (arms, not legs!) But we'll see if that happens. I'm all dressed and ready to go so that should help my motivation. And since I already went to the foodstore for the week (tripple coupon day was yesterday) I really don't have too much to do today. Yeah!

Oh, and a quick confession before I go. We went to IHOP last night for dinner. I got the pancake sampler which is pancakes, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. I ate the two pancakes (the harvest grain and nut ones... they are outstaning!), my eggs, the bacon and just a few bites of hasbrowns. And yes, it was about 20 points. And yes, I counted them all. So there goes my big splurge meal of the week!

Mushroom Madness

Morning! I'm trying to be a better blogger this week. Though sometimes I feel like my posts are sooooo boring. Oh well....

Let's see, Last night I went to the gym and was half undressed when I reached in my bag and realized I didn't pack a sports bra!!!!! CRAP! I thought about just dealing with my normal bra but when I took two in place strides my boobs were ALL over.... and so I put my shirt back on, packed up my stuff and left. I was SOOOOO annoyed. I got home and let the pups out, got changed and went right back though!!! I knew if I didnt go right back I wouldn't end up going at all. So I did arms and then 20 min on the treadmill. Also ... Katy (from my work, the one who just got engaged, and my favorite person here) joined the gym with her sister last night! So I might have a workout buddy. Though clearly she already has her sister.... boooo I want a sister!!!! But anyway they took the spinning class last night (their first ever and it was the HARDEST teacher) and they came out and were like NEVER AGAIN! Also I guess some girl FELL OFF HER BIKE and broke her ankle! An ambulance came and took her out and her ankle was the size of my head! I felt so bad. That would SUCK to have to be taken out stretcher style while EVERYONE in the gym is staring at you. And it's a girl who is there everyday. I felt so bad for her I just wanted to give her a hug! But right, then I got home, made a yummy pasta dinner. AND.... are you ready for the big news?

I put mushrooms in it!!! Sliced shrooms were on sale this week. Ar loves them. I say I hate them. But honestly, I don't think I've ever eaten one. I just think I hate them. So I decided I'm going to try them for a week. If I still don't like them that's fine, but I think it's all in my head. So I made pasta and diced (super small) red, yellow and green pepers, onion and shrooms. Threw in some of Roni's sauce that I had in the freezer and chopped up a tiny piece of sausage that was in with the sauce. It was SO yummy and only 6 points! And I didnt even notice the shrooms. Granted I put in the tiniest bit, but it's all about baby steps.

I snacked too much last nigth. Counted the points, but there was really no need.

Other big news... I got up this morning and went for a ride! Just did 5 miles (took 30 min) but it was hilly as crap! It's a loop through our development and it's so freakin hilly. So hopefully if I ride on hills a lot I'll fly through the bike portion of the tri which (I hope) is flat. So one workout DOWN! Tonight I have Trainer Boy (still sore from Thurs crap!) and then I'll do a 25 min walk on the treadmill when I'm done with him.

I'm wearing a skirt today. Yippee!!!

My knee has been bugging me again... I think because I didn't stretch properly on Thurs night. I brought my ice pack to work to ice it up.

This is long. Sorry!!

Menu.....
bfast: 1c milk, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 banana, splenda - 4

Lunch:
1/2 price fun at flying saucer! I'm thinking the chili - 9

Snacks:
animal crackers w/ key lime pie yogurt - 3
strawbs and apple - 0.5

Dinner:
not sure! Something quick and easy after TB either leftover salmon or a burger... Mmmmmm

I really need to NOT over snack tonight. I'll allow myself a TWO POINT SNACK after dinner ad that's it!

Frightening

This picture from the MS 150 is just downright scary.

It's a good kick in the pants though!! So that's good.

I've been slacking all week. I've just been tired, lazy, and eating CRAP! And it showed on the scale. I hopped on this morning to a SIX POUND GAIN! In 2 weeks? 6 pounds? NOT COOL. I'm right back to where I started 4 weeks ago.

Instead of throwing today out the window and starting fresh tomorrow with a new week -- I'm starting TODAY. I was watching the biggest loser from Tuesday night last night and something one of the girls said really stuck with me. Her goal t-shirt said "To finish what I started." And I want to do that! I want to just finish this... at least the LOSS part. I know it's a lifelong journey... but to just be finished the losing weight and onto the maintaining stage would be great. So this time I'm starting, and I'm not stopping til I finish! I dont care how long it takes me... but I've had it with starting and stopping.

And so.... I'm starting this for the last time today. I'm sure I'll get off track and give into temptations, but I will not stop. I will not give up. I will do this. Just think how easy the MS 150 will be next year when I'm not carrying around an extra 40 pounds!

Bring it!

Todays menu so far...

Breakfast:
PB&J - 3.5

Lunch:
Chili - 4
1/3 oz cheddar cheese - 1
1 tbsp light sour cream - 0.5

Snacks:
pear - 1
strawberries - 0
sugar free jello - 0
Ginger snaps - 3

Dinner:
Turkey sausage, tomato and onion stoup (RR recipe that I'm playing with to make it lighter -- will post tomorrow if it turns out ok!) - 5
Salad - 2
Bread - 3

I'm also going to get off my ASS tonight and clean the house! It's a disaster. All of my bags from the weekend are still sitting around the house. It needs a good dusted, swept, and mopped, the huge pile of mail needs to be dealt with, laundry needs to be put away. So tonight I will do that. Tomorrow morning Ar and I have a 50k ride at 8:30, then friends from out of town are coming over for dinner so it will be a busy day. There will be home made ice cream sandwiches at dinner so I'll have one with the flex points I earned! Woohoo!

9.30.2007

I Made It!

It's 9pm exactly on Sunday night. I'm ready for bed. But just wanted to let all of you out there know that I did in fact finish all 150 miles of the MS 150! I can't even tell you how good it feels that its over.

Even without much training the two months prior to the ride I think I feel better this year than the two other years I've done it. And I'm chalking it all up to doing it on a ROAD BIKE this year and not a hybrid.

Here are some pictures as I'm too tired to type anything else about it right now :)

Rest stop on day 2 -- bike on the ground, shoes off (my toes were a bit numb) and Gatorade in my water bottle

Self portrait while riding -- about 30 miles in on day 2

I was upset there were no pictures of my cute outfit from day 2 -- so my mom took one at home before I showered (you cant really tell, but I have a skort on, its quite adorable!)

My metal of completion (heehee) and the total distance of 151.9 miles on my odometer. I figured I needed some proof that I really finished.

Hope you guys had a great weekend! I'm off to take some (more) Advil, ice my knee a bit, and head to bed. I've got a long drive (8.5 hours) back to Charlotte tomorrow.

Oh! And I forgot to weigh in this week, so no weigh in til next Saturday. I know I SHOULD see a loss after 12 plus hours of riding, but without fail I gain weight the week after the MS 150 every year. Go figure!

9.25.2007

Crazy kitchen!

Last night I felt like I spent my whole night in the kitchen! I got home and made dinner, then cleaned up the dishes (from dinner and some from the night before), then I put my flowers into two vases and worked on arranging them (my boss got my flowers as a thank you for taking a lot of heat at work last week from listeners). After all of that, I started getting my crock pot dinner for tonight ready. Thai Chicken -- recipe to follow :) After that I made a batch of pumpkin waffles (recipe also to follow) and put them in the freezer so I'll have them for a quick snack!

It was lots of dishes (some of which didnt get done) but now I'm pretty set for the week. Which is exciting!

Other than that I've been trucking along. Tracking my points and hopefully will see another (small) loss this week.

Oh! And has anyone tried the Betty Crock Warm Delight minis? 3 points for a freshly 'baked' chocolate yummy??? Amazing! They were on sale this week so I bought a few. 3 points is not all that bad, and theyre individual serving sizes to help with portion control. After I ride tonight I plan on treating myself to one. I can't wait!

Ok todays menu...

I'm Back -- And I'm done kidding around

So I pretty much took a hiatus from blogging for a while. While I did that I also ate my face off. Which resulted in me stepping on the scale this morning and having a minor break down. I allowed myself 5 minutes (in the shower) to be pissed, angry, and annoyed. And decided the second I got out of the shower the pitty party was over and it was time to FIX the problem. So thats what I'm working on now.

I've joined Sarah's challenge to take pictures of 3 meals for 3 days. I'm going to start this evening! I'm excited about it.

Tonight I'm going to take the little pup for a walk when I get home. Tomorrow morning I'll either go for a ride or take the pup for a walk again. Saturday and Sunday will both contain a long ride -- at least 30 miles. The MS 150 is in uhm... 3 weeks. I'm in no shape to do it. I'm sure I'll be fine, but I'll feel better having some rides under my belt.

Hmm what else? Oh, menu for today!

Steel Cut Oats w/ brown sugar, slivered almonds and berries - 4

Cripes

I haven't posted in a week... probably because I've been ignoring the whole 'commitment' post I last wrote. I went home this weekend (to get some goodies for the soon to be new house more on that later), which meant 17 hours in the car by myself.... lots of junk food. While I was home I didnt do all that well either.... lots of home cooked meals and party food.

Now I'm back home and I should be getting back on track, but with the move 6 days away I've refused to go to the store. It's time to start eating stuff in the freezer and using up what we have. I've also been having a bit of a love affair with The Waffle House. I'd never been, and mentioned that to Ar Mon night when we drove past one and she quickly did a U-turn and pulled in. I fell in love. Cheap and delicious. We ate dinner there last night too. This has to stop.

So I realize that the next week or two I probably won't lose a lot of weight. I'm going to be realitic about the move and the fact that we'll be eating out a bit more as the kitchen is pretty packed up. So my goal is to maintain through the move, then get RIGHT back on track starting August 4. Thats also the week I'll start following the 8 week training schedule for the MS 150. I think the new house will be a good jump start to get me back on track. Start from scratch all of that good stuff.

As for going home this past weekend -- I drove up on Fri night after work. Got in around 1:15a. Was up Sat morning to go for a bike ride with my aunt and then had a day of family fun ahead of me. My cousins who's stationed (in the Marines) in Cali was home for a bit as he's being deployed (AGAIN -- this is the 3rd time) in the beginning of August. It worked out well as I got to see him and got some goodies that my dad had for the house. Including a Weber Grill (its used, but my dad cleaned it up all nice and got a new lid for it so it looks brand new!), weed whacker and a lawn mower! Now we've got the back yard covered :) It was great to be home, but I'm still recouping from the drive to and from and trying to pack and all of that goodness.

So I might be a little MIA over the next week or so. But I'm going to do my best. We make settlement and move in on Tuesday (July 31) so hopefully by next weekend I'll be back to normal!

Tan Lines

Let's take a moment to look at my tans lines after todays riding...

I think it's time this girl sees the sun oh I dont know near an ocean, pool, lake... any body of water really where I could work on evening things out. Ha!

Deserving Weigh In

Weighed in yesterday to a 1.2 lb gain. Not the greatest.... but deserving. Other than a 30 mile ride on Wednesday I didnt really exercise at all, and I ate like crap. So its only natural that the scale would go in that direction.

Doing my best to just move past it and get back down.... shooting for the 170s in the not so distant future. I've been in the 180s now for WAY too long.

Yesterday I went a little crazy... had a ride planned, but then as soon as I started getting my stuff together it started thundering and lightening. Not the best conditions to ride in. So Ar and I went furniture browsing instead. I also went out last night and actually had 2 beers. I cant remember the last time I had TWO beers. I dont generally drink a) because I dont love the taste and b) I just find it to be empty calories. I also split a burger and home made potato chips with Ar.... not the best choice in food but certainly could have been worse. Splitting is the way to go.

I ended up eating 31 points yesterday... so I'm down 7 flexies already. The goal today is to not use ANY! Which I'm confident I can do.

So far... I've had a light english muffin with pb and honey for breakfast -- 3 points. I'm off to watch a Netflix, then go for a ride, then hit up the foodstore, then maybe pick Ar up from work as she rode in this morning. We'll see if I'm feeling nice :)

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

[Update....]

Just got back from a good ride. I did the 'big girl ride' all by myself! Being the visual learner that I am, I checked out the route on a map and was good to go! I must have been a few minutes behind a little rain storm as well because I kept riding through freshly rained on ground which was great! Cooled things off but I missed the rain. How's that for timing?

As for my menu heres how it's looking so far.

Bfast:
Carrie Delight (light english muffin, pb, honey) - 3

Snack:
gatorade on ride - 2
granola bar on ride - 2

Lunch:
leftover tortellini w/ sauce - 6

Snack:
big vitamuffin - 3

Dinner:
tex mex veggie burger on whole grain bread - 4
mac n cheese - 6

Snack:
ice cream w/ bananas and strawbs - 4

I got about 7 APs today between the bike ride and an evening walk so I think I completed the mission of not using any flexies.

In other news I just talked to my mom and dad... they're hopping a plane to ITALY in a few minutes for the 30th wedding anniversary. So jealous, but they deserve it. My dad is beyond excited... he's been wanting to go forever. My mom is excited, but really only 'picked' Italy (my dad said she pick anywhere she wanted for them to go) because she knew how much he wanted to go. Talk about true love. Theyre the cutest!

Big Girl Ride

I just got back from a ride with Ar. (She informed me that I went on a 'big girl ride' today haha) She took me on a good new loop... too bad I wont remember it by myself. But I think if I do it once more with her and then take a queue sheet I should be ok. We'll see. We did like 27 miles in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not too bad.

I ate like crap yesterday, but today I'm back on track and will count all of my points! I think the long ride helped get me in the right mindset.

Tonight we're off to watch the fireworks. I'm excited. I love fireworks!

Menu so far... [Updated!]

Good Ride

Just did 19.6 miles. I wish I would have checked before I got in the house or obviously I would have ridden around the block to make it an even 20! haha. Oh well -- I'll take it. Took me just over an hour and 20 minutes. So thats not the fastest ride, but I enjoyed it either way. I'm slowly starting to gear up for the MS 150. As in everytime I get on my bike I think... how the heck am I going to do that this year??? (Insert: small plea for my fundraising efforts! I'm trying to raise 1000 bucks for the ride. Sooooo click here and empty your pockets! Teehee. THANKS! End shameless plea for money)

But yes, it looks like I'm off to a good start for another successful week! Lets just hope I can keep it up!

We have our inspection for the new house tomorrow at 9am... keep your fingers crossed that it goes ok!

Menu for today will hopefully be up later. So far I've only had Carrie Delight (toasted english muffin with peanut butter and honey) for 3 points. And considering I think I got at least 5 APs for that ride I've got some eating to do today!

[Heres the updated menu as promised]

Bfast:
Carrie Delight - 3

1.5 oz white chicken breast - 1.5
2 pieces center cut bacon - 1
mayo - 0.5

Dinner: OLIVE GARDEN... eek

2 breadsticks - 4
I forget what my entre was called but it was the sausage and ravioli theyve been advertising like mad (and yes... it worked because I went just for it haha) - I only ate 1/2 but I'll still go with 15 points!

I'm going to throw in 3 points just for good measure today -- because I estimated on dinner :)

Total Points: 34
APs: 5

Evening Ride

I havent ridden since Sunday. I did not feel well last night and was up for an hour or so in the bathroom. Exciting, I know. So I didnt get up and ride this morning as I was still feeling a little iffy. Amazingly after eating something (Carrie's breakfast of champions) I feel much better! So as long as it's not raining when I get home from work I will ride. Even if its only 10 miles - I will do something!

That being said -- I'm having a pretty good week. Still have some flexies left.

As for the house and moving. We have been approved for the mortgage loan, and all of the paperwork has been signed for the offer to purchase. Now we're trying to set up the inspection which seems to be the last big thing other than settlement. Assuming all goes well with the inspection we'll be making settlement on July 24. The lease on our apartment is up on July 31 -- so we have exactly a week to move everything. I'm already stressing about moving as we aren't hiring movers. Normally I wouldnt be too nervous -- but how exactly are we going to move a WASHER AND DRYER?! EEEK. Ar is lining up lots of people to help us, so that's good. But I'm still stressing. I've moved 5 times in the last 3 years. One of which was a pretty major move from New Jersey to Charlotte (and that was pretty much a year ago). So it's time to pack everything up (again) and move. I'm hoping to have almost everything moved by Sunday, July 29 and just have the 30 and 31 to make sure everything is in order at our old apt.

But yes... I'd say in the next month you're going to her lots of complaining about packing, moving, cleaning... all of that fun stuff. So I apologize in advance :)

Ok, on to today's potential menu!

Breakfast:
Light English Muffin - 1
2 tsp PB - 2
1 tbsp honey - 1

Lunch:
Sushi 101 Rice bowl. Sauteed Veggies over steamed rice - 8

Snack:
pineapple - 1
watermelon - 1

Dinner: (must the same as lunch I fear!)
Chicken and vegetable stirfry - 3
Brown Rice - 3

Thats all I know so far!

6.25.2007

Monday

Things are going well! I've been tracking everything this week which is HUGE. Be proud :) Granted its only been 2 days... but they are the hardest 2 days (Sat and Sun) so the rest of the week should be a breeze :)

As for the house, we have done all of the negotiating and have accepted the 2nd counteroffer the seller made. Yay! So onwards with lots of paperwork, mortgage stuff, inspection...not to mention packing and moving. EEK! I believe settlement is going to be on July 24.

Oh yes, and before I forget heres the menu for today. (Updated!)

Breakfast:

vitamuffin - 1pt
nectarine - 1 pt, 1 fruit serving

Lunch:
Ak-mak - 1 pt
1 oz Cheese (full fat!) - 3 pts
Panera Veggie Soup - 1 pt, 2 veggie servings
Panera Multi Grain Bread - 3 pts

Snack:
TCBY - 4

Dinner:

4 oz lean ground beef burger - 4
Light english muffin - 1
Bit of cheese - 2
Avocado - 1
Free fixins (pickle, tomato, etc) - 0
Fruit Salad - 1
Broccoli - 0

Snack:
Choc chip cookie dough and a cookie (WOOPS) - 7

Total: 30
Flex Used: 6
Flex Left: 23

I didnt plan on riding this morning which was good as it T-stormed all night long and I was up til about 1am. If its not raining when I get home tonight I might go for a quick ride, but if not no worries as I'll be up and riding tomorrow morning! It's time to really start training for the MS 150!

Ok, I'm off to Panera to grab my soup! YUM-O!

Staying Accountable and Puppy Treat Recipe

Just thought I'd post today... it helps keep me on track :) I stayed pretty well within my points yesterday and hope to do the same today.

Here's my updated menu for today. Its almost 9pm so I wont be eating anything else the rest of the night :)

Vita Brownie - 1

Lunch:
tortilla - 2
1 oz cheese - 3
salsa - 0 (1 veggie serving)

Snack before riding:
small bowl of frosted mini wheats - 3

Flex Left: 29

At 4 I'm heading out for a ride. Hopefully do at least 15 miles (updated: did 15.5 woohoo), so that will be 4 or 5 APs at least. It was supposed to thunderstorm today... but it doesnt look like its going to. So keep your fingers crossed that I dont get caught in the rain!

Other than that my day has been pretty low key. Went to the food store (I thought going at 11am on a Sunday was a good idea... I was so very wrong. IT was a madhouse of moms and kids who just got out of church. So now I know), made puppy treats (recipe below), cleaned up the kitchen and am now just letting my lunch digest before riding.

Hanukkah Noshers (I'm not Jewish, but still a great recipe! heehee)

Makes between 30-40 treats

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups water
4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup quick-cook oats

Weigh In

Just a quick post today. I've been kind of bad.... I dont know how to describe it. I've just sort of been eating what I want, but trying to stop when I'm full and not snack as much. But I still know that I could be better.

So today is a fresh start. I'm off to get my hair cut, then go visit are at the Cowbell Challenge. Hopefully I'll get back from there around 4 or so and go for a ride. I wanted to go this morning, but I was out last night and when I got up to drop Ar off this morning at 7:30 I just wasnt ready to be up for the day. Generally I'm very anti doing ANYTHING aerobic after getting my hair cut. But I figure its not that big of a deal... I'll just mess it up :)

Not sure if I'm going to strictly count points, or just make better decisions this week and try to get in as much riding as possible. We'll see :)

Either way I weighed in at 185 today. Down .2. But I was at 183 for a while there... so its time to get back to it. Not to mention this time last year I was at 173 :) haha. I'll get there. It's all about patience.

In other news we've put a bid in on a house! So keep your fingers crossed and if everything goes well I'll give you more info.

Early Rising

One of my friends from home has been trying to get up in the morning to work out. So we arranged a wake up call for this morning. She said if she knew I was counting on her to get ME up that shed get up. So she said shed call me at 6:15am. I set my alarm for 6:15 in case she didnt call. She called at 6:07, and I groggily told her I was awake. All lies though really. I went right back to sleep as my alarm wasnt set til 6:15. That was 8 whole minutes I was going to miss out on!

And then my alarm went off, and God love my girlfriend... she took a beating trying to get me out of bed (as I've given her permission to pretty much do anything short of push me out of the bed).

[Keep in mind she didnt have to get up yet... just me]
Ar: "You have to get up" (takes all covers off me)
Me: (silence)
Ar: "Get out of bed" (nudges me towards the edge of the bed)
Me: "Nooooo I'm tired"
Ar: "You'll feel so much better once youre up, its the getting up thats the hard part"
Me: "... I didnt get enough sleep last night, I'm tired"
Ar: "Well then an extra half hour of sleep isnt going to fix it... so just get up"
(me... laying there silently cursing all things in the world)
So now its like 7 minutes later and Ar finally asks "Are you getting up?" (silence) "Fine... but dont ask me to get you out of bed ever again"
So I angrily threw the covers off (that I had stolen back) and said"Im getting up, but only to shut you up!" I was sooooo bitter. It was really dreadful. Poor Ar.

That being said I got up, stormed around the apt making as much noise as possible so Ar couldnt sleep soundly (I'm a pleasure to live with let me tell you) and went for a quick (well not so much quick as short mileage) ride.

But I do need to publicly apologize to Ar for my nasty behavior this morning. I am NOT a morning person. And clearly I can be quite nasty in the morning. But I really dont mean it... its the sleep talking I swear!

So yes, after my ride I got to the DMV at 7:50, waited in line outside in the rain (thankfully it didnt start raining until after my ride) until they opened at 8... and then hung out there for 2 hours to get an NC license. They make you retake the written test if you have an out of state license. Painful... but thankfully I passed! It was close as I got 3 wrong (and if you get more than 5 wrong you fail).

So I got to work around 10 and I'm leaving at 3 to go get my car registered in NC (as thats at a differen section of the DMV, so difficult.) But either way I'm having a short work day... though sometimes I think I'd rather be at work than standing in line at the DMV. Oh well :) Lets just say a prayer that I have all of the proper documents to get my registration done.

Now onto my menu....

Bfast:

Lunch:
chick salad sandwhich - 7
small fruit cup - 1

Snack:
yogurt - 1

not sure what else....

APs: 4

Celebrating the Little Things

I successfully got up this morning at 6:45 and went for a 9 mile ride. Again its not as much as I'd like but its SOMETHING which is better than nothing, right? Woohoo! The goal is to do it TWO more times this week. (I made a little deal with Ar that if I ride 3 times in the morning this week and 3 times next week she'll put new handlebar tape on my bike. I do well with incentives).

Last night I made hamburgers for dinner (in a skillet, I tried to degrease them as much as I could... but they were stilla bit greasy and delish haha). I was anti-oven as it was 96 degrees out and we are AC-less. I had my burger openfaced on a small piece of my home made wheat bread with avocado, ketchup and mustard on it. YUM-O! Also served with corn on the cob (I was so full from my burger that I didnt have any) and big fruit salad. So it was a pretty good dinner all around!
