Do any of you watch Survivor? I absolutely love that show. It's just so brilliant in so many ways. And yes, I was totally smitten with JT this season. I'm ready to move to Alabama and live on a cattle farm with him. Ha! But the real reason for the post is about Taj. (Speaking of, did anyone else realize that JT spelled her name TAG at one of the tribal councils? Hysterical).
So it said that Taj's career was "former pop star." On the finale Jeff mentioned she was a member of SWV (Sisters With Voices if I remember correctly). Do any of you remember them? Because as soon as he said it I totally started singing one of their songs. I was beyond obsessed with it back in like 6th or 7th grade. Anyway the song was called "Weak" and I just found it on YouTube. Makes me like Taj even more!
So am I the only person that remembers this song?

It's Time for Some Fresh Jams
I put a few new songs on my iPod last night... I love new music! I've been very much into silly hip hop lately. I'm the whitest girl there ever was, but secretly wish I could bust a move to some of these songs. Ha!
Anyway... song #1 is Bust it Baby Part 2 (Plies feat Neyo), and I had no idea there was a Part 1. Clearly I missed that.
Song #2 is Untouched (The Veronicas). I first heard this song on So You Think You Can Dance, and while it wasn't the best performance ever, I included that video instead of the actual video. It's more fun that way :)
#3 -- Forever (Chris Brown). I couldn't find a video on YouTube that you could embed, so here's the lame version I did find. The song is still fun though!
Lastly, song #4 is Shake It (Metro Station). I again couldn't find an embedable video -- so I just linked it. This song just makes me wanna get up and dance. Love it!
That's all for now. What have you been listening to this summer??

More music
Ar and I went to see The Rescues last night. They are a new band, but the three members have each had solo success (in the smaller singer/songwriter way). While I didn't know too much about them going into the concert, I came out loving them. Their harmonies are awesome, and they're quite entertaining to watch. Since they are new there's no fun youtube videos, but check out their myspace and give their songs a listen. It's worth it. (And they're more along the lines of typical music I listen to... not the hip/hop I was all about yesterday... though I'm still rocking out to that too1)
Ok, I'm done plugging music now. I did good this weekend, though I actually don't think I ate enough on Saturday. I had gotten 5 APs and only ended up eating about 20 points total throughout the day. Woops! But no to worry, I went out to dinner last night and enjoyed myself. Didn't over do it, but didn't feel bad eating some of the crap and shrimp dip we got as an appetizer. I used 11 flex points and I feel good about it!
Here's today's menu
Bfast:
Chocolate cake - 5 (we did january bdays today -- I planned in a small piece of cake)
Lunch:
lots of 0 point veggie soup w/ 2 tsp parm cheese - 1.5
wheat thins - 2
cheddar cheese - 2
turkey peperoni - 1
Snacks:
1/2 apple - 0.5
clementine - 1
100 calorie pack popcorn - 1
Dinner:
meatloaf - 4
cous cous - 3
onions and peppers - 0
Snack:
choc vitamuffin - 2
I'm going to the gym after work so I'll have at least 2 (hopefully more) APs. Now I just need to drink some water as I've been slacking all weekend!

Productive
I love having days where I feel like I've been somewhat productive. So today makes me happy. I slept in until about 9, then got up but was in a daze as I took some Tylenol PM last night (because I'm STILL in pain from my workout on Thursday... gotta love having a trainer ha!) I watched some TV I had DVRed from the past week, then around 11 decided it was time to really wake up and start getting stuff done.
I've done 3 loads of wash, cleaned the kitchen (it was a DISASTER), made some vitamuffins, had lunch, put said laundry away (I usually just do it... then it sits in the basket for a week or two, I'm bad like that). Organized the closet a bit, changed the sheets (also one of my LEAST favorite things in the world to do) and had a dance party or two in the bedroom. I'm just all hyped up today but know that I need a day off from the gym so I've actually resisted the urge to go... by rocking out. ha! And since all the blinds have been open, I'm sure my neighbors are slightly frightened. Too bad for them, because I had a blast!
Since I've been busting a move, thought I'd let you know what I've been rocking out to today. I've been listening to more hip/hop than usual. Which is sort of funny, because I've got zero rhythm, but whatever it gets me pumped.
Good Life - Kanye West (feat T-Pain)
Buy U a Drank - T-Pain
Apologize - Timbaland (feat. OneRepublic)
Bed - J. Holiday
The Way I Are (Timbaland)
Sweetest Girl (Dolla Bill) - Wyclef (feat Akon)
Stronger - Kanye West
Take You There - Sean Kingston
Numb/Encore - Jay-Z & Lincoln Park
A little out of the norm from my girl and guitar singer songwriter music. Just to get you pumped here's the video of Numb/Encore (and I just decided to link to YouTube videos of all the other songs). The quality isn't all that good, but the sound is great and that's really all that matters, right?
Happy Weekending!

Beautiful
If you dont know by now, I'm a sucker for girls with guitars. I saw Rose Cousins perform a while back in Savannah (she opened for Edie Carey -- one of my all time favorites), Arleigh and I both fell in love with Rose Cousins right away.
I just stumbled upon this, and am determined to find it on iTunes tonight to get on my iPod. If you have a minute (ok 2:59 to be exact) give it a listen. There are few things I love more than girls with guitars... but girls with guitars and awesome harmony... yup, totally a sucker!

The book of love is long and boring
No-one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing
But I, I love it when you read to me
And you you can read me anything
The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb but
I, I love it when you sing to me
And you you can sing me anything
The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know but
I, I love it when you give me things and you
You ought to give me wedding rings
I, I love it when you give me things
And you you ought to give me wedding rings
No-one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing
But I, I love it when you read to me
