Really Doing This

I think one of the reasons I might be neglecting my blog so much is because I'm not really all that crazed about eating right and my weekly weigh ins right now. I'm just kind of doing it. I'm certainly not perfect, nor at my overall goal weight. But I am actually happy with my body. I have MUSCLES. Yes, if I flex my arms there's actually muscle there. I still have big thighs, but you know what? I think I'm always going to have big thighs. Such is life. But today I was in the middle of cleaning and looked up in the bathroom mirror and thought, "damn I look good." Now you guys know me... I do NOT ever think that. And I wasn't even decked out! I was cleaning the bathroom! But I'd gone out this morning so my hair was curly and I had make up on, and was wearing a white tank top and black (pajama-esque) shorts and I have a little tan going on and I just felt good. And that's what I saw in the mirror. And I can't even tell you what a great feeling it was!

So yes, I have off days (like today) where I eat crap. But I also have good days (like yesterday) where I eat quite well. And during most of those good or bad days I work out. And it all sort of just balances out. I've been at the same weight now for a year. But my clothes definitely fit better this summer than they did last. So one would assume I've lost some fat and gained some muscle. Which is why I've not been hopping on the scale as much. I'm just doing this based on how I feel this time around and it's working for me. So I'm going with it!

Moving along... I've had a fun weekend! Yesterday was a busy day! I got up and went to boot camp. It was so hot at 9am... I was dripping sweat like nobodys business! Ew! After that I stopped at Lowes on my way home to get some veggie plants! (Yes, I went to Lowes straight from my workout all smelly and gross). I got some tomato plants, pepper plants and planted cucumer seeds (hopefully they make it). But the veggie garden was a mess of weeds so I spent a good 2 hours cleaning everything out before I planted anything. I got some color on my back (I wore a halter to prevent tan lines heehee) and a second workout! Because I was dripping sweat again working out there! But I got the weeds out, turned the soil, and got some new dirt in there too. Hopefully my veggies will do as well this year as they did last! After that I hit up the grocery store and then came home to shower and get ready to go out. Went on a date but as much as he seems like a nice guy, he's just not the guy for me. Literally in 4 hours I didn't laugh once. Unacceptable! So back to square one we go :)

Today was perfect in so many ways. I was up at 8 and got ready for brunch at a friend's house. I made monkey bread and we ate a whole lot of carbs... but delicious carbs! All kinds of breads and casseroles. There was fruit salad, and that's the only thing I had seconds of, but I surely ate too much. I got home around 2 and was out in the backyard working on the front part of my tan by 2:30. I was all hooked up. I had a fan oscillating on me, a spray bottle to spritz myself with cold water, and my iPod hooked up to some computer speakers so I could jam while I relaxed. And as always a tall glass of ice water and a pup beside me. Here are three views. #1 - my legs, #1 - Maddie laying beside me and #3 - the tree in my backyard and a picture perfect sky

Around 4ish I went back inside to get some work done. I did 2 loads of laundry. Sweapt, mopped and vacuumed the downstairs floors. Made meatloaf, cut up all of my fruit for the week and also made pasta with sauce and veggies for the week. I also cleaned the bathroom, but you knew that already. Then I had some leftover monkey bread for dinner. And it was heavenly. (Yup, I had a carb loaded brunch and monkey bread for dinner... and that's it. Told you today was a bad one!) And finally around 7ish I sat down to just relax and watch some TV.

Whew! This post was much longer than I anticipated -- so if anyone's still reading thanks! I'm off to bed now before I go eat MORE leftover monkey bread!

Biscuit Hell!

I'm watching the Biggest Loser from last night. CRAZY I tell you!

In other news I was NOT the Biggest Loser today. Made a bunch of TERRIBLE choices. Started the day off in Biscuitland! Our morning talk show was on biscuits in the south. So we had Bojangles, the Flying Biscuit and then a local chef's home made biscuits at the station. I couldn't resist and that just started a bunch of poor eating for the day. However. I tracked everything throughout the day. I got home and just tracked everything else that I ate today (after I Got home)... it was ugly. 41 points worth of ugly. BUT I still have 4 flex points and all of my APs to get me through til Friday. So I'm not going to stress. And most importantly I'm not going to let one day screw up my whole week.

Why? Because the online Biggest Loser challenge is ON! I'm on Angie's team and ready to kick some butt!!

That being said I did skip boot camp tonight. I could hardly move today! My quads, butt, back, shoulders, arms, abs... all hurt. But it's a good hurt. I didn't totally take the night off though. I took the dogs for a 2.5 mile walk. I didn't count the APs but at least I was out there moving. Tomorrow it's back to boot camp!

I'm not going to write out my menu today. Just know that I ate a LOT of crap. My jeans were tight. But I counted it all. Whew! Feels good to know I'm not 'cheating.'

Off to CHUG major amounts of water.

Someone yell at me....

I made cupcakes last night. And ate one. Then I brought them into work today... telling myself I wouldnt have any. And I ate one. Granted I only at one at work today... but still. SABOTAGE MUCH????

Also... it looks like the skies are going to open up any second now. I'm not sure what the deal is with Boot Camp in the rain. I fear it may still be a go if it's not thundering or lighteninging (that looks funny)... we shall see. It's only 65 and cloudy and windy... this could prove to be a shitty boot camp. Part of me would be ok if it got canceled because I have a jillion things to do tonight (pack, walk the dogs, clean, do laudnry and of course watch all the good Thurs night permieres). BUT, there's no boot camp on Fridays and I'm out of town til Tues night so I'd be boot campless until WED. That would be a full week! Granted I plan on working out a bit on vacay, but it won't be nearly as intense as boot camp. BOOOOO.

Other than the cupcakes I've done pretty well today. I just need to skip snacking tonight and eat a healthy, filling dinner.

And if anyone cares... the gas situation in Charlotte is out of control. One of my coworkers sat in line for an hour and a half today. Are you kidding??? Hopefully by Tues when I get back there will be gas again!!

A Morning in the Kitchen

I can't remember if I posted my WI yesterday... if not it was 175.2. I'm started my tracker over on the side with this weigh in for The Challenge!

I was up at 7:30 today. That's early for me -- I can't even get up at that time for work during the week! Why is it I have no trouble getting up on the weekend, but Mon-Fri I can't pull myself out of bed... hmmmm.

I let the pup out and got to work in the kitchen! By noon I'd done the following:
- Made 2 servings of salmon
- Made a batch of pumpkin waffles
- Made Chicken Cakes (the recipe was on Roni's old site but it doesnt seem she moved it over to her new site)... basically think crab cakes but with chicken and a light version
- Made Meatloaf Muffins
- Made a batch of dog treats
- Made chewy pumpkin bars (with some modifications)
- Made 2 servings of cous cous
- Made 2 servings of brown rice
- Went to the food store to grab a few things
- Packed my lunch for tomorrow

Whew! I'm pretty much DONE cooking for the week! I've got rice/cous cous for my starch. I've got chicken, beef and fish items all cooked up. Tonight I'll whip up some asparagus with dinner and then have that as well. Perfecto!! I even made a full menu of bfast/lunch/dinner for the week. Now if I can just stick to it I'll be in good shape.

Now that all the hard work is out of the way and the dishes are done I'm sitting down to watch some football. Pathers on now... and Eagles on at 4:15. Woohoo! Also... dog park run at some point.

In other news I'm watching Fiona this week. Maddie hasn't really seen her since Ar left so I know she'll be beside herself with excitement when Fiona comes to play for a whole week! And my roommate is out of town from Wed-Sat so it'll be me... Maddie, Fiona and Milo (roommates dog). YIKES!

Puppies and Baking

I had a little impromtu baking session last night. You see, when I got home from work last night I guess I didn't close the back gate all the way. And when it's nice out we just leave the kitchen door open for the pups to run in and out (and yes some bugs, but it's worth it to not have to keeping letting Maddie and Fiona in or out). So anyway, I'm making dinner and the house phone rings. I didn't recognize the name so I ignored it thinking it was someone calling for Ar. Then the same number called my cell phone and I was like jeepers who is this?? So I answered and it was a woman and she asked me if I lived in Old Stone Crossing, then if I had a chocolate lab. I immediately looked in the backyard and saw the gate was open!!! I freaked -- the woman was like and do you have a fluffy black dog as well? She had both of them and was asking where I lived so she could bring them to me. Well.... I walked outside and she was LITERALLY in the front yard. So miss Maddie and Fiona didn't stray too far -- but thank GOODNESS the woman called!!!! I was so flustered that I just sort of corralled the pups into the back yard and didn't even ask their names or anything -- just said thank you and ran away. BUT then I realized the name came up on the house phone caller ID so I went to the Old Stone Crossing Directory online and found where they live... so I made them cupcakes last night and I'll bring them over tonight to thank them. But of course I wasn't going to bring them 24 cupcakes!!! So I made 12 big cupcakes (8 for them). Ar ate one of the big ones and I put the other 3 away. Then I made 24 mini cupcakes and brought them to work today. I just ate one but won't have anymore! Whew... so hopefully that baking session didn't sabotage me TOO much.

After ALL of that excitement and baking I got up the energy to go to the gym. I did day 2 of week 5 on the Couch to 5k. 5 min warm up, run for 8 min, walk for 5, run for 8, 5 min cool down. Cripes it was hard. And I kept thinking next time I need to KEEP RUNNING for 20 min straight. I'm really going to give it my best on Fri, but if I can't do it I'll just keep at it until I can. So when I'm ready to quit someone send this to me :) Also... I have NO idea how I'll run at all after just swimming 1/2 mile and biking 18 miles. HA! Whos idea was this triathlon again???

In other, completely unrelated news, I'm wearing a cute dress today :)

Menu is all out of whack. I had a bad lunch... well yummy, but not healthy. A few people took me out for admin professionals week or whatever. Honestly I didn't even know that was this week and I tried to convince them not to take me out, but I lost. And a DIFFERENT group of people are taking me out tomorrow. I feel horrible because I'd so much rather just stay at work and eat my healthy lunch then take my lunch break to run some errands. But alas, they are being nice and I should appreciate it. Just hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get a salad or something! I'm going to gain a million pounds this week if I keep this up!

I think I have Trainer Boy tonight but forgot to check his book last night. So I'll go at 7 and keep my fingers crossed! He better have me on the schedule... I've missed being sore all over!

All Sorts of Domestic

Yesterday was one of those days I spent in the kitchen. I love my Sunday kitchen fests! But first... let's back up to Saturday shall we?

I went to my weigh in... DOWN 1.8! What does that mean? I'm FINALLY in the 180's! Granted I'm in the HIGH 180's but I'm there nonetheless! The 170's seem so much more attainable being only 10 pounds away. I can do this. And I will. Yeah!!

Then I went to the gym and finally had a workout without Trainer Boy where I was sore afterwards. I did my quads and am still feeling it today. While it sucks to have to use the handicapped bathroom because I can't sit on the toilet without holding on to something (pathetic, I know) I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of pushing myself a little bit past my limits. And it's a good pain, so no need to worry :) I just need to make sure I'm all recouped by Thursday so Trainer Boy can kick my butt!

Yesterday I went shopping with a friend in the morning. We hit up Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Trader Joes. I got new cookie sheets and a new chopping knife at Marshalls for 32 bucks!!! Awesome deal. And then I got all sorts of goodies at Trader Joes. I also went to the regular food store to get everything that TJs doesn't carry.

I came home and made Bell Pepper and Tomato soup, split pea soup (for Ar -- I'm not a fan), and a batch of chocolate chip cookies (had to try out the new cookie sheets!). I should mention that I only ate 2, and counted the points. I also did 3 loads of laundry and tried out Roni's freezer trick for ground beef. I'm obsessed! Thank you Roni!!

Today I've got a good lunch packed and am ready to hit the gym after work. It's also going up to 62 today so I've got spring fever!

Hope everyone has a great week!

FUMBLE!

Yesterday I told you that I was making a football cake for the big game last night. Well it did turn out ok... with one little incident during the icing.

Let's back up, shall we? I called my friend yesterday morning who was also making this cake and got all of the instructions from her. (It's a Pampered Chef recipe and she is a P Chef consultant, so it worked out well). She even convinced me to make my own icing! So I got all pumped. Got the cake in the oven around 11ish. Took it out, had it cool for so long in the bowl, then waited 3 hours while it cooled on the rack. Around 3 I decided it was time to ice. So I made my icing (after calling said friend again again for the recipe) and it came out perfect! I was so proud as the last time I attempted to make icing it was too watery and literally melted off the cake. I made grass by adding some green food coloring to coconut. Cut the cake into the shape and laid it down on the "grass" and was ready to ice. I had it 3/4 of the way iced and went to turn the tray around and I guess the tray wasn't totally on the counter and the cake just slid right off. Onto the floor. Coconut and icing were everywhere. The two pieces of cake were just sitting there. It was terrible. LUCKILY we had just cleaned the floor the night before. I was on the verge of tears and Ar came over and picked up the cake. While she DE-iced it I cleaned up the coconut mess (the dogs were outside thank goodness). She assured me the cake was A-OK and there was not a spec of dirt on it. So I pulled myself together, made more 'grass' and started over again. So I fumbled the ball -- but my mom said as long as you recover then it's ok! haha. We took it to our SuperBowl Party last night and it was a hit! Shhh no one knew that it had been on the kitchen floor. Hahah!

Also - Ar and I watched We Are Marshall last night before the big game. It is a super sad movie -- but awesome. I recommend if you haven't seen it to check it out. I love a good sports movie! And Matthew McConaughey is so great in it.

I packed a great lunch for today and just remembered that I'm supposed I have lunch with people from work today! Yikes! We are going to a sushi place, so I'm thinking I'll just get something little and still have some of my lunch.

Breakfast:
1/2 brownie (damn everyone who brought in the SB leftovers) - 3
2 Pumpkin Waffles - 3

Lunch:
Cucumber Roll (at sushi) - 2
Bell Pepper and Tomato Soup - 1
Chicken Salad on Pita - 4

Snacks:
grapes - 1
cherries - 1

Dinner:
Campbells Super Bake - 6 or 7
Asparagus, Peppers and Onions - 0

Gym tonight after work. I'm thinking a spinning class! WOOHOO! It's going to be a great week, right? Right!

Weigh In, Baking and 100 Cal Packs

I've been putting off posting about me weigh in yesterday. I was up. Up a LOT. 2.8. So in all of January I lost 0.2 pounds. Are you kidding me?? I worked my butt off! I've been hitting the gym hard, and eating right. My leader suggested I eat either my flex points or my APs, but not both. This week I technically only ate 5 of my Flex Points and then all of my APs... which still only comes out to 30 points total. But we shall see. This week I'm not going to eat APs, just my 35 flex and I figure I'll still try not to eat all of them.

I was literally on the verge of tears after my meeting. My gut instinct? Go to Dunkin Donuts (which is right down the street), but instead I went ahead with my planned day. Went to the gym and got in a great workout. 30 minutes on the bike, arms, then 20 minutes on the treadmill. Came home and made Banana Oatmeal Muffins (I'll try to post the recipe later), and Bell Pepper and Tomato soup. Our friend came over for dinner and we made Roni's Salmon Cakes. SO yummy.

This morning I made a batch of Pumpkin Waffles and am in the process of making a football cake for tonight. Not sure if it's going to turn out all that well, but we'll see. If it does turn out I'll take a picture!

Back to the scale.... I'm trying to not let the scale ruin my momentum. I know that in the long run I'm doing things right. I'm working out pretty much daily and I'm eating well overall. So this week I'm ignoring the scale. I'm not going to get on the scale in the mornings. It's sort of like an addiction, so it will be hard not to jump on but I figure it's not really helping me right now so that's that :)

Also -- a few people inquired about 1 point 100 calorie packs. If they have enough fiber, 100 cal packs can only be a point. The ones I know for sure that are 1 point (when you put the info into WW points calculator online) are the cinnamon muffins and the chocolate cupcakes. They both have 5 grams of fiber which makes them just one point! So yummy and worth it. So be sure to check the fiber in your 100 calorie packs. If there's enough it might just be 1 point!

Ok, off to make some icing for my cake! But first, here's me menu for today.

Breakfast:
Bisquick Waffle - 3
Graham Crackers - 2
Tastes of cake - 2

Lunch:
Whole Wheat Pita - 1
Cheese - 2
Bell Pepper and Tomato soup - 1
Grapes - 1

Not sure what else I'll eat today -- hopefully nothing TOO horrible at the SuperBowl party!

Still Alive

Carrie gave me a little nudge the other day and emailed me asking where I was! Of course I hadn't blogged for a while because my eating had gotten WAY out of control!!

But I'm back on track and ready to discuss pumpkin!

To try to make a SUPER long story, somewhat short.... one of the volunteers from the membership drive at work last week found out that I liked pumpkin recipes. He had apparently just gone to the pumpkin capital of America and bought a bunch of baking pumpkins. So he told me he'd bring me one. I figured it would be fun to try to make my own pumpkin puree! I figured he forgot about it since the drive ended forever ago... and he never dropped it off. But no. I walked into work yesterday to find half of a MASSIVE pumpkin sitting on my desk. It was cut in half horizontally (I had the top half) and just HUGE. Ar estimates it was around 20-23 pounds.

So here's how I spent last night. I went to the gym (GO ME!), came home and made meatloaf with roasted veggies. While that was cooking I prepared the pumpkin to bake it. I had to cut it into 4 pieces to fit in the oven. Got that in the oven while we were eating dinner. After that Ar and I walked the pups. Then I got all the ingredients ready for pumpkin muffins while the pumpkin was still baking. After 90 minutes I took out the first quarter and peeled off the skin and pureed it. I used some of that for the muffins. (It wasn't even a WW recipe! It was REAL chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. I figured I'd just make them and bring them into work. Though I did substitute applesauce for the oil). While the muffins were baking I took out the rest of the pumpkin (it had baked for like 2 hours or so) cut, peeled and pureed it. It took FOREVER!!!! And now I have a MILLION cups of fresh pumpkin puree! Ha! I don't know that it tastes any better than Libby's canned stuff, but it was sort of cool to try. Though next time I'd do it with a MUCH smaller pumpkin. I have 3 containers in the freezer and then one in the fridge. Anyone want some fresh pumpkin????

Ok, so that story was still long. Sorry! Anyway, I was standing in the kitchen for like 3 hours straight doing all of that. So at least I wasn't sitting on my butt all night long. Plus the gym and a walk with the dogs. I was proud of myself! I also counted all of my points. Woohoo!

Menu today...

Bfast:
steel cut oats w/ apple, fresh pumpkin (shocker), pp spice, splenda, dash of honey and syrup (SUPER filling and delish) - 2
Bike of pumpkin choc chip muffins I brought in - 1

Lunch:
1 cup spaghetti squash - 0
Roni's homemade sauce w/ meatball and sausage - 3.5
reduced fat parm - 0.5
asian pear - 0

Snacks:
100% whole wheat banana nut muffin - 2
vitamuffin brownie bites - 1
jello! - 0
cheese and crackers - 3 (if needed)

Dinner:
Skillet Apple Chicken w/ pumpkin - 4
Stuffing - 4
some sort of veggie (asparagus probably) - 0

Snack:
something for 3 points after dinner... not sure what

Total Points: 24 out of 25
APs: hopefully 2-3

Also -- gym again after work. Ar is riding so thats perfect. And I'll walk the dogs again tonight. That's my new goal. To walk Maddie at least once a day. The backyard just isnt enough to tire her out like it is for Fiona. And the weather has been perfect! Like 60 degrees and sunny.

OHHH and BL tonight! YES!

Off to drink TONS of water and hopefully keep on track! I'm going home for a family party this weekend so that will be quite a challenge. But one day at a time, right?

Alarm Mishap

**Update**

Dinner plans have been changed. We're having dinner at our friends' house on Thrusday night. Tonight we're driving to Rock Hill to meet up with Ar's best friend who just got back from China! He was there for 8 weeks for a summer program. We are meeting at Applebees and while that's not my favorite place to eat they DO have a WW menu. I will get either the tortilla chicken melt (which is like a quesidilla) for 10 points, the cajun lime tilapia (6 points!!), or the confetti chicken (7 points).

I will NOT get the boneless buffalo wings. I will NOT get the boneless buffalo wings. I will NOT get the boneless buffalo wings.

Ok.... if I'm feeling like I need a treat I'll go for the tortilla chicken melt and splurge, if I'm feeling like I really am going to stay on track I'll get the tilapia or chicken. If we get an app I'll have a few bites. I will stay in control. I've been doing SO well this week I wont let it go to waste at freakin applebees where they offer a WEIGHT WATCHERS MENU!

Ok... here's the rest of my initial post today:

I didnt get up and ride this morning. I thought I had set my alarm for 6:30am... but it went off at 7:30. So clearly I didnt set it for 6:30. Crappers! We are supposed to go to a friends for dinner tonight, but I'm hoping I can squeeze in a ride before that. Though we're supposed to have T-storms AGAIN tonight. Oh well, it will be ok. I'll figure something out.

Even with my chocolate chip cookie run in last night I still did ok. Its amazing how easy it is to stay on plan sometimes. As long as I dont have anything going on, I'm fine! But the second something comes up and throws off my plans it becomes virtually impossible to keep on track. Either way, I'm sticking with it for the time being. I have no idea whats on the agenda for dinner tonight -- but I'll just do my best and keep portion control in mind.

Todays menu so far....

Breakfast:
vitamuffin - 1 pt

Lunch:
akmak - 1 pt
Cheddar cheese - 2 pts
Avocado (YUM) - 1 pt
Yogurt - 1pt
Fruit salad - 2 pts, 2 fruit servings

Snack:
TCBY Kids cup (its one of my favorite coworkers last week so we are squeezing in as many TCBY trips as possible before she leaves so sad) - 3 pts

Dinner:
Not sure but I'll have 13 points left, for Crapplebees :)

Have a great day everyone!

Resisting Temptation

I went to a buffet for breakfast yesterday. It was a nice one. Ar's parents were in town, so they took us to breakfast at the Uptown Hilton they were staying at. I am still pleased with my self control. First trip up to the buffet I got a HUGE fruit plate. Strawberries, yellow watermelon, pineapple, papaya and sprinkled a tiny bit of granolla on top of it. DELISH!!! Then the second trip up I got a tiny scoop of scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon and a very small danish (like super tiny, normally I would have gotten 2 or 3!!!). And thats all I had!!! Granted it wasnt amazing, but to just do 2 trips, one fully fruit and not overdo it I was pleased :)

That being said I still did do pretty crapily this weekend. But I'm taking my little buffet victory from yesterday and carrying it into today!

Ars parents brought us a hosuewarming present... a kitchen aid mixer!!! Its black, shiny and simply amazing. I made whole wheat bread yesterday and cupcakes. I'm in love. Of course I brought the cupcakes into work this morning. I just walked into the kitchen to get breakfast and took pause at the cupcakes. But somehow I won! The chocolate frosting didnt wear me down this time! I kept walking to the fridge and got my nectarine and vitamuffin! Now if I can just win with them the rest of the day I think I'll be onto something good.

I tried to get up to ride this morning, but that didnt happen. I woke up a lot last night and just felt like I hadnt gotten enough sleep. So the early AM ride didnt happen. ITs going up to 95 today, so we'll see what its like when I get out of work and perhaps I'll do a shady ride then.

Oh! And on the house front, we found another house this weekend! And I think we're going to put a bid in on it! It seems too good to be true, so we'll see how everything goes. I'll keep you posted as we go through this whole house buying stuff!

Ok, menu for today!

Breakfast:
Nectarine - 1pt, 1 fruit serving
VitaMuffin - 1 pt

Snack:
Yogurt - 1 pt, 1 milk serving

Lunch (leftovers!):
1/2 cup brown rice - 3 pts
veggie stirfry (with maybe 2 bites of chicken, brocoli, asparagus, green beans, peppers, onions, pineapple and soy sacue) - 2 pts, 3 veggie servings
fruit salad - 2 points, 2 fruit servings

Snack:
100 cal pack - 2 pts
pudding - 1 pt

Dinner:
probably meatloaf, but that might change as its 95 degrees out and having the oven on for an hour in an un AC-ed room is rough.

Bring on June

Yes... May BLEW. Big time. And I even spent 4 days of it at a freakin health spa! But alas... its a new month, a new week... lots of new beginnings. I ended up with a big ole gain at the end of May, so I certainly need to step it up this month to get rid of that, and a little more if at all possible! And mini newsflash to me... bathing suit season isnt 'rapidly approaching'... its HERE!

So lets see... some goals for this month:
- ride my bike at least 3x's per week
- count points NO MATTER WHAT... even if I eat 60 points in one day, I will track :)

I think I'll leave it at that. Because I think that enough to keep my busy for a month! My challenge partners this month are: Amethyst, Maria and Natalie. So feel free to stop by and wish them luck as well! I think the 4 of us are going to do great this month!

OK... and now onto a weekend recap and the like :)

I did ok with eating this weekend, but not as good as I'd hoped. Weighed in on Sat and was up 1.2. Not bad considering that the past 2 weeks Id pretty much eaten anything I watned and didnt work out at all. I tracked points this weekend, but the food that I ate was so unhealthy. TONS of cookies. It was a rainy weekend so Ar and I did some baking and LOTS of sitting around watching TV/movies. We both had our period... not a good combination haha! But yesterday I went to the store and got lots of healthy food. A WHOLE pineapple (I'd never bought or cut one before but they were on sale so I went for it), watermelon, blue berries, strawberries, bananas, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, peppers, onions... whew! I went NUTS in the produce dept. Got home and cut up ALL the fruit and have it ready in Tupperware in the fridge to just grab and go. And I stuck to the outside isles only getting cereal, pasta and pasta sauce on the inside! I was proud of that :) And Sundays rotisserie chickens are on sale for $3.99 so thats my new fave thing to get. I got home and deboned it all and now I have TONS of chicken for stirfry, chick salad or whatever else this week. And 4 bucks? A steal!!!

Ok menu today....

bfast:
cheerios w/ 1/2 banana - 3
vitamuffin - 1

Lunch:
chick salad sammy w/ little bit of avocado on top (not sure how it will be, but i think yummy) - 4
yogurt - 1
HUGE fruit salad (see above!! im so pumped) - 2

Snack:
100 cal pack - 2

Dinner:
not 100% sure yet, I'm thinking meatloaf and some veggies and brown rice (my other new obsession)

Thats all I got for today! Happy Monday :)

Weigh In, Steeplechse and a Good Ride

I've had quite the eventful weekend! Yesterday I had to work at the Queens Cup Steeplechase races which was so fun. Basically I worked the WFAE table (spun a prize wheel and gave out goodies) from 10-12:30 and then after that I was free to enjoy the day! Not only did I get paid for working, but I got 4 tickets to the event and free parking! So I really can't complain. I brought Lily and 2 of her friends that were in from out of town. We packed a picnic of cheeses, tons of fruit, wheat thins, carrots and Lily's homemade raspberry squares (which are heavenly). So even with the 'tailgating' I was able to eat well! But anyway everyone was all dressed up in adorable sun dresses and hats and I honestly felt like I had time warped into 1952 or something. I loved it! Heres a few pictures:

Me and Lily (I need to find a good hat for next year!)

The picture doesnt do the horses justice

Then I hung out at Ar's shop from 3-6 as they were short handed and well I'm good at answering the phone at least so I did that to try to help out. Ha! And then we went out to dinner ... MEXICAN. But I did well there too! I got veggie fajitas which was basically a huge sizzling skillet of peppers, onions and brocolli and then 3 small flour tortillas (I only at 2) and then a side of rice (2 bites), guac and salsa. It was great and I ate lots of the veggies. Yay!

This morning I weighed in as I forgot to yesterday morning (what with the excitement of getting up at 8am for Steeplechase). I was down 0.2 pounds! It doesnt seem like much, but considering that I really blew a few days this week AND didnt workout at all I was pleased! YAY!

That got me in the right mindset to go for a ride today. I went out and did about 16 miles. Though my cat eye broke like 15 minutes into the ride (a part must have fallen off the wheel on a bump) so that was a bummer. But instead of being annoyed and quitting early I forged on. Added to some of the sun I got yesterday (my back looks like a maze with 2 different riding tan lines and yesterdays sundress lines haha) and just got in a really good workout. Heres my route compliments of Gmaps Pedometer.

Now its time to shower and clean because my parents are coming to visit on Friday! I'm so excited!!! Though I'm not quite sure what we're going to do all weekend. The two things that are definite are walking a 5k with my mom on Saturday morning (a few people I know are doing it so I thought that would be fun), and having my dad help us install a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Yippee!

As for today's menu it's really up in the air. So far heres what I've got:

Bfast:
Apple Jacks (so healthy I know ha) - 4

Lunch:
small piece of leftover pizza and leftover veggies from last night - 5
Asian pear - 0

Dinner:
no idea! Maybe barilla plus pasta and meatballs??? We shall see what I cook up.

Perhaps an Evening Ride?

Its beautiful out today! I'm in love. Bright blue skies and the sun is shining! I cant wait to bust out of here at 5pm! And hopefully go for a little ride tonight.

I just used this nifty little Gmpas Pedometer site to map out my general route. I ride to the 'booty loop' at the end, and then usually go around that a few times depending on how long of a ride I'm on.

Heres a little view (this route has me going around the booty loop 3 times)

Eating is going ok. Had a little run in with some baked goods last night. But nothing too tragic. Back on track today with 2 APs that I refuse to use! Tomorrow AM is the weigh in... keep your fingers crossed!

HAPPY FRIDAY :)
