Weekend Update

As for my weekend update I'll do bullet style

1) Got my haircut on Sat -- it looks really cute! But SHORT! I have to blow it out every morning which will get old SOON. Oh well, it forces me to look nice which is good, no more falling back on a ponytail
2) I literally could not walk on Sat. I was in SO much pain from my trainer on Thurs it was horrible. I looked like I had a physical disability. It was so terrible. I had to walk hunched over and on my toes... try to imagine that. Ar is STILL making fun of me. Yesterday I realized I could walk in heels so I wore heals throughout the house all day long. It was funny, but at least I wasn't in pain. Also means I haven't been to the gym since THURS! Hopefully I'll be back in action tomorrow. I may never EVER do calf raises again.
3) Ar got a new car this weekend. Yes... ANOTHER new car. As in she got her truck a year ago. She's been griping about it for a while now -- how she just doesn't like it. She thought she was going to love it -- but she hates it. Too much gas. It's big. She can't park it. Etc etc. It's been a small point of contention. But she finally was just like I understand you think it's crazy for me to trade it in and get a new car -- but I can't stand my truck. She got a used AUDI! Yes, apparently my name is Elle Woods and we're loaded. It actually was an amazing deal and her payments are less than the truck so that's exciting. And it's just a 4 year payment plan -- since she had a 5 year plan on the truck I guess it all evens out. But to say that I was pissed at first would be an understatement. We've worked through it though.
4) I lost TWO pounds this week. I think I am firmly in the 180s now... at least I'm hoping! WOOOOOHOOOOOO! I ate out a jillion meals and still lost! I guess not ordering fries DOES pay off. How about that?
5) I'm officially obsessed with my pumpkin waffles. I made another batch yesterday and just had them for breakfast. IN LOVE!
6) I made a really yummy salmon dinner last night. I made this recipe w/ couscous. And I added a ton more veggies into the packet. It was DELISH!
7) I planned out all of our dinners for this week and am really hoping to stick to it!

Ok... I think that's about it. OH! And I made Roni's Tortilla-less Tortilla soup this weekend. 0 points for 4 servings. In my opinion it's a million times better than WW's . SO good. I have it for lunch today. Mmmm. Ok menu time...

I'm Back -- And I'm done kidding around

So I pretty much took a hiatus from blogging for a while. While I did that I also ate my face off. Which resulted in me stepping on the scale this morning and having a minor break down. I allowed myself 5 minutes (in the shower) to be pissed, angry, and annoyed. And decided the second I got out of the shower the pitty party was over and it was time to FIX the problem. So thats what I'm working on now.

I've joined Sarah's challenge to take pictures of 3 meals for 3 days. I'm going to start this evening! I'm excited about it.

Tonight I'm going to take the little pup for a walk when I get home. Tomorrow morning I'll either go for a ride or take the pup for a walk again. Saturday and Sunday will both contain a long ride -- at least 30 miles. The MS 150 is in uhm... 3 weeks. I'm in no shape to do it. I'm sure I'll be fine, but I'll feel better having some rides under my belt.

Hmm what else? Oh, menu for today!

Breakfast:
Steel Cut Oats w/ brown sugar, slivered almonds and berries - 4

Lunch:
PB&J on light bread - 4

Dinner:

Ok... now I'm off to make my shopping list!!

Detoxing

It's time to DETOX. The plan is basically to eat as little 'packaged' food as possible. I'm not going to be insane about it or anything, but I've just been eating way too much icky food. Be it cookies, take out, you name it I've been eating it. So I'm going to work hard at packing lunches and making dinner and cutting out the crappy snacks... replace them with produce or yogurt... just healthier options. And I'm only going to drink water for two or three days -- no other beverages. This wont be hard as I generally only drink water in the summer. I've whipped out my big nalgene again (32 oz-er) and have been trying to drink 3 of them a day. I've been peeing like mad... but other than that haven't had too much trouble doing it.

Last night I made a GREAT dinner if I do say so myself. Threw a salmon fillet, zucchini, peppers, onions and some spices in tinfoil and cooked it up on the grill (sort of got the idea from Roni over at weight watchen. I just put my own spin on it. I also did corn on the cob on the grill which came out wonderfully! I was so impressed with my meal. Have I mentioned yet how much I adore my Weber??

I also made Roni's watermelon yogurt ice. I brought some for lunch today so we'll see how it is. It looks and smells delicious though! Apparently I'm a bit Roni obsessed lately :) Shes just got so many good recipes out there. If you havent checked them out -- I highly recommend it.

Ok onto today's menu.

Bfast:
Natural pb (oil poured out -- brilliant trick!!) and a bit of honey on lite bread - 3
1/2 banana - 1

Lunch:
leftover meatloaf - 4
tomatoes with fat free balsamic - 0
yogurt - 1

Snacks:
watermelon yogurt ice - 1
low fat graham crackers (packaged food, I know) - 2

Dinner:
Not sure whats on the menu. Ar won't be home so I'll just be cooking for me. I might do some sort of pasta with veggies or something, but I havent totally decided just yet.

Ok... wish me luck with my detoxing!!! And please say a little prayer to St. Anthony that I find my riding shoes... because I cant ride until I find my shoes and they got lost somewhere in the move. Eeeeek! The MS 150 is right around the corner and I'm NOT ready yet.

Weber Time!

Ok I said I was going to get back on track on Aug 5... well that was yesterday. And I was by no means back on track. I did ok in the morning but then we had people over for a BBQ (about 15 people) and it went down hill from there. I had three and a half beers. I dont know WHAT got into me. I cant remember the last time I had more than one full beer. My stomach is pissed at me for it this morning too, pitiful. Back in the days I could throw three beers back no problem! haha I'm old. Granted I hadnt eaten much all day, so they hit me hard, but wow that was a wake up call. hahaha. Anyway along with the high point beers (Blue Moon heavenly with a slice of orange in it mmm mmm good), I had some veggie kabobs (onion, zucchini, three colored peps, and pineapple... delish!!!), this AMAZING salad our friend brought over (tossed greens, sugar coated almonds, strawberries, feta and a strawberry vinaigrette dressing), TONS of chips and dip and then TWO home made ice cream sandwiches. So I guess it could have been worse... but it could have been better too. It was good that I was 'manning' the grill because that kept me away from the aps! Even though I still managed to have my fair share. Oh well.

TODAY is Aug 6 and I'm ON TRACK! Ar hasn't fixed my broken spoke yet so I cant ride today -- but tomorrow I have a 9 mile brisk ride scheduled according to the 8 week training program for the MS 150. Hopefully my spoke will be fixed by then :)

Menu today....

Bfast:
plain cheerios with organic milk (my new obsession) -- 3

Snack:
vitamuffin - 1

Lunch:
leftover veggie kabob w/ brown rice and soy sauce - 3
nectarine - 1

Snacks:
100 cal pack - 2
pretzels (complements of kell and fish YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM) - 2

Dinner:
Buba Burger on lite bun w/avocado - 9
Grilled peppers, onions, asparagus - 0
salad w/ strawberries and fat free balsamic - 1

Snack:
Lite ice cream - 2

I am GOING to stick to this. I will NOT get off plan. I am SOOOOOOOOO excited to have the grill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
